Discourse phrases in a dialogue
This exercise aims to help learners to communicate properly. You need three things to this. First, there are so called Discourse phrases that you need to know to be able to build up a dialogue. Second, you need Function phrases to make the language work (i.e.: giving directions, giving opinion, etc.). Finally there are Strategy phrases that help when there�s a breakdown in communication (e.g.: when a word doesn�t come to your mind or you don�t understand what the other says).
