THE PLURAL   To form the plural of a noun, we generally add an “s”: car     -  cars table  -  tables After –s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x we add –es bus    -  buses box    -  boxes When “y” is preceeded by a consonant we remove the "y" and add -ies city    -  cities   When the word finishes with -f, -fe we remove the "f" or "fe" and add -ves scarf  -  scarves When the word finishes with -o, preceded by a consonant we add -es potato  - potatoes         car     brush computer     mask   boy    book   map   pig   lamp   box   tomato   toy   city   poster   leaf     knife   dog   paper   lady     pencil
