 Read the forms of the verbs. Try to memorize them by heart.  

drink- drank

fly- flew

get - got

go- went

shut- shut

spend- spent

take- took

write-wrote

 
 
 Now let's put the verbs into the second forms to form Past Simple. If you have difficulties to remember, use the table in the previous exercise.  
  1. He  (write) a nice story yesterday.
  2. He  (get) a good mark at school.
  3. I  (drink) three cups of coffee yesterday.
  4. She  (shut) the door loudly.
  5. The birds  (fly) away last week.
  6. They  (spend) three days in Salacgriva.
  7. We  (go) to the cinema yesterday.
  8. We  (take) a taxi to the airport.

Let's put the verbs into the second forms to form Past Simple. If you have difficulties to remember, use the table in the first exercise. He  (shut) his book and  (go) away.

  1. I  (get) five presents for my last birthday.
  2. My brother  (take) my book last week.
  3. My mother  (drink) tea with milk yesterday morning.
  4. She  (fly) to Australia last summer.
  5. They  (go) home three hours ago.
  6. We  (spend) three hours in the waiting room.
  7. We  (write) a long letter to our grandmother.
