HOW TO FORM THE NEGATIVE IN THE PRESENT TENSE

  • When the verb is an auxilary you add "not" to write the negative. E.g. You are not listening to the teacher

  • When the verb is not an auxiliary you need "do" or "does" to do the negative in the present tense. E.g. You do not (don't) like dancing / She does not (doesn't) drink milk

Write the negative form of the following sentences:

1. You are working now
2. He likes dancing
3. We eat bread
4. You can jump
5. There is a book on the table
6. Peter is running
7. She has got a cat
8. Susan is doing her homework

Fill in the gaps using the verbs in brackets in the negative form:
