IT’S ALL ABOUT TECHNOLOGY

How will robots change our lives by the 23rd century?

Technology is in non-stop development. Experts predict that in the next two centuries, people won't do tiring and boring tasks themselves, but they will buy special machines. How will they be like? Will they be all safe robots? No, they probably won't. Some of them will be tiny and dangerous because they will be able to spy humans’ movements and collect information. This information will be possibly stolen by rich people. And, who knows? Perhaps scientists will want to experiment with feelings and machines!

However, robots will definitely be helpful for some of us. They will help people to shop or do the homework faster. At the moment, when you don't understand an English text, you have to look up the words in the dictionary. If you have a robot, you will be able to ask it and have an answer immediately.

What's more, people won't need to speak, they will use a chip located in the brain and robots will understand what you need and your mood. When you are moody, your robot will play some positive music! Will human beings be ready for such a modern life?

Activity. Read the text and answer the questions with TRUE or FALSE

1) We will have robots in the twenty-second century.

2) Robots will all be safe.

3) Scientist will steal information.

4) Robots won’t help human beings doing their homework.

5) We won’t talk to robots and they won’t understand us.
