We use the preposition to locate something (place).
In

at
we use (at) with : at the bus stop, at the door, at the window, at the roundabout, at reception, at the traffice light
On 
We use (on) with: on the ceiling, on the door, on the table, on the wall, on the floor, on the nose,
on a page, on an island, on the ground, on the grass, on the beach, on a chair, on your shirt,
on the notice board, on page seven, on a small island.
