I will never, never, never, Thomas (to shout)at the top of his voice. His mother was looking at him incredulously.

Never?she encouraged.

Never go to school by bicycle, he ( to thunder), putting on his jacket.

But (to miss)your bus, darling.

Yes, because you (not to wake)me in time.

Didnt you buy that alarm clock of yours because you (to want)your independence? Come on, (to be)angry. Give me a minute,(to take)you by car.

Take me? Thomas was indignant. Dont you think Im old enough to go on my own? Im twelve and a half, remember? Ill walk.

But its too far, darling.

Thomas (to close)the door behind him.

OK, walk then and be late, as usual, Mrs Wheel couldnt help ( to shout)after him. She looked out of the window and saw him running at top speed.

She made herself a cup of tea, ad she (to head)for the living room, when she saw Thomass diary on the table. He (to leave)it at home again! Really Thomas was going through difficult times.

She (to open)it automatically and a picture attracted her eyes. Then a sentence (to attract)her eyes. She sat at the kitchen table and began reading. The hairdresser (to have to)wait for her a bit longer, this morning.

Thomas was not late for school after all, but he was all in a sweat. All the better he thought. Bingo (to tell)him once that sweating was a mans appreciated quality.

The first lesson was Maths and he enjoyed it so much that time (to fly). The second was a two-hour session of English. HE (to get)so bored that he decided to work a little on his diary. He (to look)into his satchel but it wasnt there. He must have left it on his bed. Luckily mother _(to accept)his request and never entered his room.

Then the break came . He adored those short fifteen minutes which he spent (to talk)to wonderful Eva from the other class.

Or better he spent them talking about her with Bingo; she sometimes talked to him, but on those occasions he seemed to lose his voice. And his mind _(to turn)completely.

Eva quickly lost interest in his scarce conversation so Jeremy replaced Thomas and the two were soon chatting away and laughing.

This morning (to prepare) a possible list of topics but it was Eva who approached him and said:

You live in Elm Street, dont you ?

Thomas nodded, and swallowed. She _(to know)his address! She added:

My family (to move)to Elm Street tomorrow. I was wondering, wouldnt it be cool to cycle together to school now thats its warm?

When Thomas arrived home that afternoon, he told his mother that maybe she was right and that on the following day he (to try)to cycle to school. He was sure his mother _(to congratulate)_him on his decision, but his mother had a funny face and a funny haircut as well. And she was carrying his diary under her arm.
