                                                                                     PRESENT PERFECT

Present perfect can be seen as follows:

1. UNFINISHED ACTIONS:
The present perfect can be used to express ideas that started in a nonspecific time in the past and continues up to the present.
- You have surely spent some minutes watching the video and reading this explanation.

As you can see, the idea of reading and watching the video is something you started some minutes ago, but it does not say when exactly.

2. RECENTLY FINISHED EVENTS:
The present perfect can also be used to express ideas that started in the past and that have recently finished (no longer in progress)
- If you are reading this, is because you have certainly finished watching the video.

In the previous example is quite obvious that you are not watching the video anymore but that you also finished that action not so long ago.

BN: this use of the present perfect is quite normal in newspapers to present the headlines, as they imply something you didn't know up until that moment. e.g. "X country has declared war against Y country" or "X actor has just signed a contract to star Y movie next year"

3. REPEATED ACTIONS (EXPERIENCES):
The present perfect can be used to express ideas that started and finished in the past, that were done multiple times in the past and that can take place in the foreseeable future (experiences.)

- I have traveled around the world multiple times and I haven't met a more enjoyable person than you.
- That movie again on t.v? I think I have seen it a zillion times, now. I hope they don't air it next season.

As you can see both examples show ideas that have taken place multiple times in the past and that can still happen in the future.
