How Television Has Changed Over The Years

For some people, you really have to get very old before you realize thatyou are old. Im in myearlysixties and I dont feel old yet. However, when I look back at my childhood andremember/compare things to the way life is fortoday's/nowaday kids. Some things have certainly changed a lot. One area of change is television. Some of these changes have been hugeimprovements.Although, otherchanges have been definite drawbacks/setbacks.
When Iwas inschool, most people didnt have a television at home; TV was just beginning tohave troubles/become popular. When I was nine, myfather finallydecided to go all out and buy a 16 inch black and white Motorola box/set. I still remember watching the Lone Ranger save people from the good/badguys on that awesome electronic machine. Now that was exciting!
Today,televisions/screens have larger pictures in full color. The pictures are clearer and the sound is much more realistic. The new high definition sets are also made to rivalbillboard/picture screens.
The variety and quantity of programming hasincreased/gone downgreatly. There are hundreds of channels and more shows than one person could ever/never watch in a lifetime. There are many fine entertainment and educational programming/shows. There is also a lot of rubbish/trash, stuff that most parents dont want their kids exposed to. Overall, we have more choices, and that is a good thing. - I wonder whattelevision will be like when todays kids are my old age/ my age.
