                  Sappho was the greatest of all Greek women poets who born approximately 610 B.C. She wrote lyric poetry, her topics focused on the Greek goddess, especially Aphrodite (the goddess of wisdom), women of her island, and even herself.  Only four complete poems have survived intact, but there are many fragments
