                                                                                Chapter 2

When Sue got home she couldn't help but look out her window across to the island. Had she seen something in the cave? or was it just her mind playing tricks on her? so she decided to phone Bill. He agreed to phone the others and ask them to return with them on the following weekend. They all agreed to the proposal and Sam added he would ask his uncle Bert who had a fishing boat to drop them over on the following Saturday. Bert was kind enough to say yes as he was goig out on Sunday and Sam had said yes. All that week the children could speak of nothing else but Lizard island when they had a recess. Sue had gone to the library and read a lot on the history of the island. She told the others their had been a pirate ship in the area 200 years earlier captained by a villianous man called Turk. They would attack any cargo vessel within 50 kilometres of the area carrying gold or silver. This added to the excitement and the children were anxious for Sunday to arrive. When it did finally arrive the children were at the pier right on time but Bert wasn't to be seen."That's odd he's never late to our house when he's invited to dinner" Sam said. After about an hour Bert arrived puffing and panting."Sorry Sally our collie just had five pups this morning i was a little busy" he apologized, and they all boarded the fishing boat. Finally they were out to sea heading towards the biggest adventure the children could ever imagine.                                      Q1.
