                                       THE TALKING FROG



                                                                          


           It (be) a beautiful Sunday morning. The weather was nice and the sky (be) clear. An 86 year-old man  (fish) on the river. . He (sit) in his boat when he (hear) a voice say,

            "Pick me up!"
             
          He  (look) around and  (not see) anyone. He  (think) he  (dream) until he (hear) the voice again.

            "Pick me up."
          The old man (look) into  the water and there, (float) on a lily pad  (be) a frog. The man (say):

           
" (you,talk) to me?" 


            The frog (reply):

             "Yes, I (talk)to you.  (pick)me up. Then, (kiss) me and I  (turn) into the most beautiful woman you (ever, see). I  (make) sure that all your friends (be) envious and jealous because I (be)your bride."

             The man (look) at the frog for a minute in confusion, (reach) over, (pick) it up carefully, and (put) it in his front pocket.  The frog (scream): "What ? (you,not hear) what I (say)? I said (kiss) me and I  (be) your beautiful bride!"

He (open) his pocket, (look) at the frog and said,

"Nah, at my age I (rather, have) a talking frog."
